The contract to renew the lighting in the Tosalet de Xàbia estate has been awarded to Sociedad Ibérica de Construccciones Eléctricas (SICE) for 1.77 million euros, significantly less than the 2.79 million euro starting price.

The company is already responsible for the maintenance of municipal lighting and bid hard to win the contract for the estate located in the south of the municipality, earning 80 of the 100 points which were awarded for the offered price in their bid.

The amount offered, over a million euros less that the starting price, meant that the company had to prove that they could carry out the work for the price of 1.77 million euros; it did so and the municipal technicians confirmed the winning bid after analysing the tender from top to bottom.

The project has been planned to be carried out in four phases over nine month and the town hall must now negotiate with SICE to develop the implementation phase which cause as little inconvenience as possible to the residents of the estate.

The first phase will see 114 lampposts renewed; the second phase will replace 218; the third phase, 96 lampposts; and the final phase will see 149 lampposts renewed.

The fourth phase: 149 luminaries
