VIRUS UPDATE: 3 outbreaks in Marina Alta, Calp and Xaló, affecting 24 people

3,031 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 262 in Castellón, 1,597 in Valencia, and 1,172 in Alicante. In total, 355,533 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 3 unassigned cases.

Outbreaks

There have been a total of 71 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana sine the last update; by province, the distribution is 6 in Castellón, 47 in Valencia, and 18 in Alicante, of which 3 were in the Marina Alta region, affecting 24 people, as follows:

• Calp: 2 outbreaks (14 cases – social; 6 cases – social)
• Xaló: 1 outbreak (4 cases – social)

There have now been 86 outbreaks of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta in 2021.

The origins of the new outbreaks in the Valencian region can be assigned 65% social, 30% education, 5% work.

Active Cases

The data shows that there are currently 43,071 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, with represents 11.74% of the total number of positives cases recorded.

Deaths

There have been 108 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 5,960 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 671 Castellón, 2,904 Valencia, and 2,115 Alicante.

Hospitalization

There are 2,995 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 309 Castellón with 54 patients in ICU, 1,478 Valencia with 303 in ICU, and 1,208 Alicante with 222 in ICU.

Recoveries

10,994 new recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 318,263 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.

Vaccination

204,323 doses of the vaccination have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana. A total of 90,675 people have completed the vaccination programme in our region.
