During the second week of February (8th to 12th), of the almost 47,000 education bubbles that exist in schools and institutes supported with public funds, 99% have followed the face-to-face classes without any incident of COVID-19. Of the 1,845 educational centres that make up the educational system in the Comunidad Valenciana, 85.8% concluded the week without any confined classroom, a total of 1,582.

This data is extracted from the number of new bubbles confined during the second week of February, those that remain confined from previous weeks and those that have already emerged from confinement.

A total of 124 student bubbles from 79 educational centres have been confined, 198 less than in the previous week, 453 bubbles of 247 centres have emerged from confinement, whilst 324 groups from 184 centres remain confined from previous weeks. Therefore, the total number of confined bubbles at the end of last week was 451 from 263 educational centres.

Thus, the accumulated number of confined classrooms has reduced by 42% and has returned to levels seen before the Christmas holidays.

Of the 818,644 students in Nursery, Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate and FP, there are 0.5% positive cases detected in students, a total of 4,311. With the application of protocols and security measures, preventive isolation has been established, due to having been close contacts with positives, of 1.0% of the students.

As for teachers, of the 78,434 teachers in the Valencian educational system, 0.9% have been tested positive, a total of 711 teachers. Furthermore, with the application of strict prevention and protection measures for close contacts with active positives, the preventive isolation of 0.2% of the teaching staff has been enforced.

The Ministry of Education has highlighted that all the indicators show that the impact of COVID-19 in the classrooms is reducing to level prior to the Christmas holidays and that the effectiveness of the application of health protocols is evident, due to the fact that the Education sector helps to detect and contain the spread of infection, which mainly comes from the social field.

Of the 297,281 students enrolled in the Alicante region, there are 0.6% active positive, a total of 1,906 students. With the establishment of protocols and security measures, the preventive isolation has been determined for 1.2% of students, due to having been close contacts with positive cases.

As for the teaching staff, of the 27,694 teachers in the Alicante region, 1.0% were tested positive, a total of 287 teachers. With the application of strict prevention and protection measures for close contacts with active positives, 0.2% of the teaching staff has been placed in preventive isolation.
