Local young band TOXIC – young in age but not in experience – has released a new single called La Chica de tus Cuentos, which is accompanied by a video (see below), a song that the group describes as having “a more personal essence that addresses the issue of feelings and with a message that will not leave anyone indifferent.”
The band consists of Marta Cholbi (voice), Cristóbal Cholbi (guitar and voice), Carlos Puig (bass) and Ramón Calderón (drums). Despite the fact that their new song continues Toxic’s ‘cañero style’, it is far different from their last single Los Angeles Muerte, a sign of the band’s versatility without losing its pop-punk stamp that characterizes them so much.
The song has been recorded and produced by Cristóbal himself in his personal studio at The Big Punk Records. It’s a great way of demonstrating the aptitudes of these young xabieras that, every day, they are more prepared to face creative processes that, until a few years ago, it was unthinkable to tackle them locally. On the other hand, for the mastering of the song, the band has had the producer Paco Garnelo, from Pandostudios located in Real de Gandía, who has been with them since the very beginning.
In addition, this new work also has its own video clip, recorded and produced by Pepe Mulet and developed as a short film. Throughout the video, there are easily recognizable locations across Xàbia. And it is a fact that this increasingly prepared and decisive youth is also committed to giving visibility to what most identifies them.
Thus, La chica de tus Cuentos joins Toxic’s discography and it is a band which takes another step in its career since emerging in 2013, establishing itself in style and betting on its own compositions and self-production of its music.
