The Star Spain 141-Plaza challenge arrived in Xàbia on Tuesday. The challenge is to travel 1,200 kilometres and stop in the squares of the 141 municipalities in the province of Alicante to show support for the local businesses that have suffered so much from the COVID-19 pandemic.

On their arrival in Xàbia, the participants were received by inspector Pepe Ribes and officer Luis Martínez Guillen of the Policía Local de Xàbia. After unfurling a banner for a photograph, they continued on their way, hoping to reach Santa Pola on Thursday at 9.00am.

Star Spain is part of STAR-IPE, an international association of police officers based on training, camaraderie and hospitality among its members, which was founded in 1985 through the first exchange between German and American policemen. In 2011, the Spanish section was launched when Spain attended a conference held in Hamburg.
