CD Javea sign three new faces to strengthen side in bid for promotion

CD Jávea hosts Pego CF on Sunday in last match to be played behind closed doors as measures change on Monday.

Saturday 24th April 2021 – XÀBIA AL DÍA with Mike Smith

CD Jávea has made three signings in its bid to keep their bid for promotion on track. Head coach Diego Miñana has been struggling with a growing list of injuries and suspensions, which has forced him to call up players from the reserve team to fill the senior squad on matchday. But now he has three new faces to call upon as he prepares his side for the important home game against Pego CF.

Striker Luís Pérez (29) has arrived from Europa Point FC who play in the Gibraltar National League; 28-year-old Portuguese striker Carlos Djalo has come from Slovenian Second Division side NK Krsko; whilst striker Vicente Palau (31) has returned to the club from Second Regional side Daimús CF – he scored 10 goals during the 2018/19 season when CD Jávea finished in 4th spot, just outside the play-offs.

The rojiblancos have been in training during the week in preparation for the tomorrow’s home game against Pego FC and have benefited from the postponement on Wednesday’s evening game against bottom club UD Portuarios, a match that will now be played on Wednesday 5th May. Although Jávea will be without club captain Aldo (suspension) and Fran (injury), there has been a boost with the return of Javi Hernández, Toti and Ayoze to training after injury as well as the option of new signings Carlos Djalo and Palau (Luis Pérez is unavailable for selection) who are both likely to start on the bench.
