FIESTA JESÚS NAZARENO | ROAD CLOSURES

Traffic restrictions will apply throughout the weekend due to the bull-running weekend.

The start of the festivities honouring the town’s treasured image of Jesús Nazareno today Friday 26th April has resulted in a series of traffic restrictions in the historic centre as a result of the installation of the arena in the Placeta del Convent for the weekend’s bull-running programme.

The special cages and wooden barriers have already been installed around the square which has restricted the movement of traffic through the zone throughout the day and a complete closure during the programmed events.

From today Friday 26th April until the end of the programme on the evening of Monday 29th April, access to Avenida Príncipe de Asturias will be restricted with initial diversions into Avenida Virgen de los Ángeles and Carrer Roques as well as a complete closure at Carrer del Bonaire when the bull-running is in progress. For families who need to pick up people from the Centro de Día Santa María de Betania will be able to do so until 5.30pm on Friday 26th and Monday 29th.

With regards to the public bus service, the bus stop which is normally located close to the Plaza del Correos will be moved to the tourist train stop in Avenida de Alicante until the end of the bull-running activities.

Whilst regretting the inconvenience, the Policía Local de Xàbia also appreciates the collaboration of residents and asks for respect for road signs and the instruction of police officers when necessary.
