Ars Nova sings to life through music in extraordinary new concert

The concert forms part of this year’s celebration of Santa Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians.

Wednesday 3rd November 2021 – ÁLVARO MONFORT with Mike Smith

On Saturday 6th November, the Grup Polifònic Ars Nova de Xàbia will pay tribute to music itself with a very special concert within the celebration of the feast of Santa Cecilia, patron of all those people and groups that dedicate themselves to music.

Under the premise of paying tribute to this, Ars Nova will perform a programme whose repertoire is made up of works that evoke different crucial moments in the development and growth of the human being and, in which, music plays a prominent role. From childhood and its lullabies, the explosion of vitality during youth, represented by the fiestas, work effort, motherhood and fatherhood and old age; all are included. It is a personal journey through the passage of time that is inherent to every human being and equates the whole of society in aspects as profound as joy, sadness, introspection, doubt, love or faith.

The concert will take place in the church-fortress of San Bartolomé at 8.30pm and the choir will be conducted by the soprano Teresa Albero and accompanied by Silvia Ferrer on piano.
