The state meteorological agency AEMET have issued a set of weather warnings which have the potential to affect our region during Monday 16th January and Tuesday 17th January, including strong gusts to 80km/h possible at times and heavy seas with the potential for waves up to 3-4m in height pushed by Force 7 south-westerly winds.

AEMET has already issued special warning 01/2023 in which it explains that a powerful Atlantic anticyclone to the west of the Azores will combine with the deepening of Storm Fien to create a intense maritime storm that will bring strong winds and snow to the northern half of the Iberian Peninsula for much of next week. Consequently, a maritime-polar air mass will spread to the rest of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, bringing intense north-westerly winds with gusts that could exceed 80km/h in many areas.
