A resident of Xàbia has started a collection of signatures online through the Change.org platform to demand the administrations to analyze the emissions of polluting gases produced by the Ramblars fire, which has been active for more than a month and a half, as well as the long-term closure of the installation.

In the petition, it is pointed out that the residents of Xàbia and the surrounding towns have been “submerged in the smoke of the Ramblars” all this time due to a fire in the “supposedly green” garbage plant.

This smoke “is affecting people’s health, because of allergies and because houses cannot be ventilated“. They also emphasize that those who usually play sports around the old landfill “are filling their lungs with poison” .

The signatories address their request to the Ministry of Health to analyze the smoke produced by the fire as well as the Ministry of Ecological Transition, and Xàbia Council.
