Valencia announces agreement with pharmacies to give notification of positive antigen tests

Pharmacies that wish to do so can voluntarily join this initiative, which will be launched next week and seeks to reduce the current pressure on Primary Care.

Friday 7th January 2022 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith

The President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has announced an agreement with pharmacies in the Comunidad Valenciana to give notification of positive cases of COVID-19 detected using face-to-face antigen tests and register them in the database of the regional health ministry with the consent of the people who made them.

The president revealed the agreement after the working meeting at the Palau de la Generalitat with the regional health secretary, Ana Barceló, in which the details of the agreement reached with the official pharmacy colleges was confirmed.

The head of the regional government thanked the professional associations for their willingness to work together in this “common cause” of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pharmacies that wish to do so may voluntarily join this initiative, which seeks to reduce the current pressure in Primary Care.

The test must be done in person and, if positive, the establishment will notify the regional health department. The registration of personal data by the pharmacy office will be done with the consent of the person taking the test.

The system will be activated next week, as the latest technical details for the connection of computer systems are currently closed.

For us, there really is nothing easier to show someone how much you appreciate their efforts than buying them a beer (or a wine; or even a coffee) – it’s so simple.
