Xàbia Council has awarded the contract to draft the execution project and complementary studies for the definitive adaption of a municipal plot located in the Catarroges 2 industrial zone to Valencian company Xúquer Argin SL for 11,465.72 euros.

The council has been committed to converting this land into a definitive space for professionals to deposit garden waste after it was provisionally enabled after the closure of Ramblars. To this end, it is to promote a project that guarantees the best conditions for access, security and fire prevention.

Due to its territorial expanse and the latest regulations that restrict burning, Xàbia now generated some 20,000 tons of green waste per year on a professional level alone. The new processing plant is expected to cost around 1.1 million euros to create, a new facility that will meet all current requirements and regulations.
