Xàbia organises collection of medical and sanitation material for Ukraine

No other types of materials will be collected (neither clothing nor food) since the demand is currently sufficiently covered.

Xàbia Council has signed up to the emergency material collection campaign for the Ukrainian people organized by the Generalitat Valencian and the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP).

The collection will begin this Wednesday 9th March and will initially last until Friday 18th March. The collection is centralized in the Casal Foguerer (located in the Plaza de la Constitución – see map below) and will be coordinated by volunteers from Protección Civil Xàbia. The Local Police will also collaborate with a collection at the police station in case someone is unable to make the donation during the opening hours of the official collection point, which are 10.00am to 12.00pm and then 5.30pm to 8.00pm Monday to Friday.

In order for Xàbia’s help to be as useful as possible, the council have chosen to focus it on products of extreme necessity: hygiene and sanitary material, especially first aid.

The council asks residents for maximum collaboration in this humanitarian aid action and compliance with the requirements set; that they be unopened containers and in the case of hygiene, in small-format containers to facilitate their distribution.

SANITARY MATERIAL (UNOPENED BOXES ONLY): First aid: bandages, cotton, iodine, analgesic ointments, antibiotics, betadine, hydrogen peroxide, anti-bleeding patches, stomach medications, burn medications, bandage tourniquets. Orthopedics: wheelchairs, walkers, crutches.

HYGIENE MATERIAL (SMALL CONTAINERS): wet wipes, feminine pads, diapers, hydroalcoholic gel, bath gel, shampoo, unisex deodorant (roll on), toothpaste and toothbrush, razors and handkerchiefs.
