The campaign has been launched for FORXA and aims to highlight the value of local commerce.

A new campaign has been launched by FORXA – the Federation of Trade Associations in Xàbia – to raise awareness of the importance of local purchases amongst the town’s residents. The four trade associations of Xàbia Històrica, Xàbia Port, Xàbia Arenal and the Vendors Association of the Mercat de Xàbia have got together to launch the campaign under the name “Nuestro comercio también es patrimonio” – “Our commerce is also our heritage”.

In order to highlight the relevance of local small businesses in the life of a community, the traders have declared their stores as BIC: Asset of Commercial Interest, playing on the designation applied to valuable heritage in Spain, seeking to highlight the value of local commerce and its contribution to the heritage and identity of the town.

The campaign is being promoted through the various outdoor advertising points located through the municipality as well as on the social networks of each of the trade associations and in the local media. In addition, participating businesses will receive a badge will can be displayed in their windows, referring to the concept of being a BIC: Asset of Commercial Interest.

The initiative has been possible due to the support of Unió Gremial (the Federation of Valencian Trade Guilds and Associations) and the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism at the Generalitat Valenciana.
