Summer music festival celebrates 35th edition with four concerts

The soloists of this contest will offer master classes to the musicians of Xàbia

The annual Música a l’Estiu festival returns to Xàbia’s summer nights with a special concert programme to celebrate its 35th edition. The event, which is linked to the international musical course that has brought together soloists from across the world to play in Xàbia for more than three decades. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the educational side of this summer event has been suspended but the teachers have decided to offer individual master classes to the young people of the music conservatory and members of municipal groups in the municipality.

All teaching staff, all first-rate soloists, have also wanted to reconnect with the people of Xàbia with a programme of concerts that will be held in the church of San Bartolomé in the heart of the historic centre, all kicking-off at 10.30pm.

Thursday 22nd July “A Night at the Opera”
Vicens Prats (flute), Pierre Martens (bassoon), Amedeo Salvato (piano accompanist) and Thomas Indermühle (oboe) will perform works by Puccini , Donizzeti, Bizet and Mozart.

Saturday 24th July “From Bach to the Blues”
A program with pieces by Bach, Beethoven, Saint Saëns, Gershwin and Scott Joplin.

Thursday 29th July “Ensemble de Clarinets”

Friday 30th July “MMCV Quintet”
Christophe Morin (violoncello), Helena Satue (violin), Juanlu Puelles (clarinet) and Vicente Alberola (conductor) will offer a concert of music by Bach, Weber, Mozart and Spanish music, among others.
