INDOOR MARKET HOSTS SPECIAL DAY TO PROMOTE LOCAL SEAFOOD PRODUCTS

It will take place on Tuesday 5th March and feature lectures and a cooking demonstration.

The MERCAT MUNICIPAL de Xàbia – the “indoor market” – will be hosting a special promotion day called ‘SABORS DE LA MAR” – “Flavours of the Sea” – on Tuesday 5th March, a campaign supported by Punt Nàutic de CREAMA in collaboration with the Department of Economic Dynamization which aims to promote products of the sea and especially those which are caught by the fishing community of the Marina Alta.

The day will consist of a series of lectures and a cooking demonstration by Borja Susilla, owner of Restaurante Tula and holder of a Michelin star and two Repsol suns. The lectures will be based around fishing in the Marina Alta, given by Rafael Serrat and Amadeu Ros from the Xàbia Fishermen’s Guild, and the restaurant business in the region, given by José Manuel Piña, president of the Xàbia Restaurant Association (ARX). Mayor Rosa Cardona will close the day with a special speech.

‘Sabors de la Mar’ has been organised by PUNT NÁUTICA, one of the areas under the umbrella of CREAMA, the regional non-profit organisation aimed at revitalising the economic and social sectors of the Marina Alta region. The event aims to support innovative initiatives that stimulate the local economy and potential of the fishing sector as well as revitalize and strengthen the town’s most traditional economy.
