Full programme released for the Moors & Christians 2023

It includes all the popular acts including the parades, the music, the colourful costumes and the invasion then reconquest of the castle in the heart of the port.

The Board of the Moors & Christians of Xàbia presented the programme for this year’s edition of the popular fiestas held in honour of San Jaime which will be held over the week July 15th-23rd.

The presentation of the full programme and fiesta book took place at Casa del Pescador on a humid Friday evening where representatives of all the filaes came together as well as the president of the Board, Abel Moll, the standard bearers Natalia Moya Llido (Filà Contrabandistes) and Indira Rosa Cardona Delange (Filà Al Tarik’s) and the captains for this year, the Montaner-Llido family (Vicente Montaner, Merche Llido, Moisés and Santi Montaner) representing Filà Almoriscos. Mayor Rosa Cardona, and the councillor for Culture and Fiestas, Mavi Pérez, were also present.

The official program begins on Saturday 15th July with the presentation of the fiestas on Avenida Lepanto which will include the proclamation by the actress and director Inma Sancho.

On Sunday 16th July, there will be the festive music concert by the Centre Artístic Musical de Xàbia in Avenida Lepanto whilst the filaes will visit the historic centre on Tuesday 18th July for the traditional flower offering in the niche of Sant Jaume. And then on Wednesday 19th July, there will be the offering of flowers in the Iglesia de la Mare de Déu Loreto.

On Saturday 22nd July will be the first gala parade and Sunday 23rd July, which coincides with the Spanish general elections, there will be the second gala parade and spectular closing of the fiesta.
