Due to the forecast for rain, potentially heavy, tomorrow Friday, the town hall has been forced to re-schedule to programme to celebrated October 9th – Día de la Comunitat Valenciana – including the presentation of the municipal awards which was due to take place on Friday evening.

The XXVI Vila de Xàbia awards will now take place on Sunday 9th October at 12.30pm on the Plaça de l’Esglèsia in the heart of the historic centre, an institutional act that will honour the Centre d’Artistic Musical de Xàbia (CAM), Pep Segarra and Esperanza Salvatierra. It will be held in the open air in order to be able to congratulate all the winners, especially the members of the different musical groups of CAM Xàbia who will also perform some pieces during the ceremony.

As a result of this change, it has been decided to move the planned concert by Ramonets on the Plaza Comara Marujá Varó in the port to 11.00am, a fun rock concert for all the family.

The rest of the programming remains unchanged. Both the circus show scheduled for Friday at 6.00pm on the Paseo del Tenista David Ferrer in the Arenal and the concert bby the youth band of CAM Xàbia on Saturday 8th October at 9.30pm in the church of Sant Bertomeu will take place as originally planned.

As for Sunday, in addition to the institutional event and the Ramonets performance, the festive atmosphere will continue in the early evening with the Colla Portitxol, which has two performances planned as part of the cultural exchange campaign. At 5.30pm in the church square they will play together with Bellaguarda Tradicions Altea and at 8.00pm, also in the square, the Grup Portitxol will share the stage with the group La Socarrà de Xàtiva.
