Friday 23rd July 2021 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith

The Department of Sports in Xàbia has launched a new municipal sports school “Supera’t” which is aimed at people with any functional diversity who want to carry out physical sports activity.

Councillor Alberto Tur (Sports) explained that the school is open to both adults and children, and that it will have qualified personnel to tutor individual and group classes according to the need.

He pointed out that the initiative has the collaboration of the regional association “Condenados al Bordillo” and opens a new path in the municipality for integration. Sports provides people with very useful tools to reduce their limitations and overcome barriers that they come across in their everyday lives, building on skills and attitudes that help to integrate and have a normal life.

Supera’t will have the same price as other municipal sports schools – 70 euros all season – and will run from October to May on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 6.00pm and 7.00pm.

Registration can be made from August 1st through the website www.sporttia.com and for more information, interested parties can telephone the Palau d’Esports de Xàbia on 96 579 2000.

Councillor Rita Berruti (Social Services) acknowledged the step forward that Xàbia Council has taken to support people with functional diversity and their families by making it easier to access sport and thus enjoy the same opportunities as others.
