Xàbia libraries resume storytelling season for children

The sessions will be held in the main library in the historic centre and the port library.

With the return to school, Xàbia libraries is resuming the storytelling season “Pluja de contes” and “La Mar de Contes” which will take place in the library on Carrer Mayor in the historic centre and the library facilities of Duanes de la Mar.

The storytelling will begin on Friday 22nd September at 5.30pm at the main library in the heart of the historic centre and will continue throughout the autumn season, alternating every two weeks between the historic centre and the port.

  • Friday 22nd September – Centro Histórico “Con Ciertos Títeres”
  • Friday 6th October – Duanes de la Mar “El Mag d’Oz”
  • Friday 20th October – Centro Histórico “La Novia Cadáver”
  • Friday 3rd November – Duanes de la Mar “The Gegant de la Cova”
  • Friday 17th November – Centro Histórico “L’Home dels Nassos”
  • Friday 15th December – Duanes de la Mar “A la Llum de la Llum”

The stories are aimed at children between 3 and 10 years old with a programme that addresses different themes, delving into solidarity, love and respect, among others. In addition, the sessions will feature different actors for each performance.

The main objective is to promote reading amongst younger children and after the sessions, many of the participants borrow books from the children’s section to read at home.
