The Department of Beaches in Xàbia, in collaboration with the lifeguard service of the Cruz Roja, is to provide information of the maritime conditions through the Telegram channel XÀBIA – INFO ESTADO PLAYAS to prevent possible risks that people may encounter when they embark on an excursion along the coast.

The forecast will be issued when the maritime and meteorological conditions advise it, detailing the points along the coast where currents or wave breaker zones can be generated in order to avoid dangerous situations for people who venture out on to the water without experience or are unaware of the characteristics of the coast.

The Telegram channel XÀBIA – INFO ESTADO PLAYAS (link) is the same one that the local council uses to report on the access and capacity of the beaches and coves during the summer.

In addition, an infographic has been prepared on the basic self-protection tips when preparing a route, which range from having a fully-charged mobile phone to be able to make any emergency calls or notifying a family member of the time of departure and arrival, to rest and hydrate properly, to make use of the official means to find out about the state of the sea and, above all, not to go into the sea when there is a yellow flag flying.

For many years, you’ve told us how much you love what we’re doing and some of you have even asked for ways to say thanks. For us, there really is nothing easier to show someone how much you appreciate their efforts than buying them a beer (or a wine; or even a coffee) – it’s so simple.
