Tuesday 28th December 2021 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith

Xàbia mayor José Chulvi has welcomed the 19 people who started working at the council this week through the regional programs Avalem Joves (EMCUJU) and Ecovid. The new employees will be part of the municipal staff for a year and will reinforce various municipal services.

The selection of personnel has been managed through the Public Employment System (SEPE) and has covered different technical positions (environmental technical engineer, diploma in the legal economic area, industrial technical engineer, technical architect, technical environmental engineer and language standardization), another six administrative assistant positions, a landscaping foreman and four custodians.

The two employment programs are subsidized by the Generalitat Valenciana; EMCUJU is a specific call for people under 30 years old and Ecovid for people over this age who have become unemployed as a result of the situation caused by COVID-19.

The mayor welcomed the workers and wished them luck and a fruitful work stage. For the council, these 19 employees are a long-awaited reinforcement as a result of the current situation in terms of human resources after a few years in which the administration has vetoed the creation of new positions.
