XÀBIA EXTENDS BEACH CONTROLS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 6

Telegram APP “Xàbia-Info Estado Playas” will continue to provide information on latest beach capacities, flag status and other incidents.

The Department of Beaches has decided to extend beach surveillance and access control for another week to September 6. Access to the popular beaches of La Granadella, Portitxol and Ambolo has been controlled since the beginning of July whilst beach capacities for these coves as well as the beaches of La Grava and El Arenal have been controlled this year as part of the measures brought in to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 infection.

As in previous years, the contract for this service ends on August 31 but councillor Toni Miragall (Beaches) has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the contracted company to extend it until September 6 to provide great security and control on the beaches and coves of Xàbia due to the expected high influx of bathers. In addition, the Telegram APP “Xàbia-Info Estado Playas” will continue to provide information on latest beach capacities, flag status and other incidents.

The department has also appealed for collaboration from everyone to follow the recommendations of the health authorities to ensure that the beaches are safe spaces, including maintaining interpersonal distances and wearing masks.
