XÀBIA CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL SPORTS DAY

The Department of Sports has organised a sport festival for 4th and 6th grade students.

The Department of Sports in Xàbia has organized a series of sports days on Thursday 21st March and Friday 22nd Match in order to celebrate International Sports Day, which is commemorated on April 6. The municipal sports complex in Freginal will be hosting 4th and 6th grade students from schools in the town.

The councilor responsible for Sports, Toni Molina (PP), explained, “there will be more than 500 students who will participate in this great sporting festival in Xàbia in which we not only intend to be a showcase of the sports disciplines that can be learned and practiced in our municipality but also to recognize the effort that each and every one of the clubs makes every week with their academies”.

There will be exhibitions of karate, Valencian pilota, handball, soccer, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, chess, hockey, athletics, capoeira and tennis, among others, all of them offered by the Xàbia clubs and the monitors of the Sports Department.

Molina added that 2024 is a special year for athletes since it is an Olympic year, with the Summer Olympics, now in their 33rd edition, being held in Paris from the end of July to mid-August. And this is precisely the common thread of the poster that the department has prepared for workshops that at the regional level have been sponsored by the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso.
