Two beaches in Xàbia awarded Blue Flag status for 2024

The Arenal beach is not one of them due to the ongoing issues with the outfall pipe.

Two Xàbia beaches have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag status for 2024 – but the Arenal beach is not one of them. The distinction is awarded by the Asociación de Educación Ambiental y del Consumidor (ADEAC) to confirm that a beach or marina meets its standards for quality, safety, environmental education and information, the provision of services, and general environmental management.

The beaches that have received the distinction for 2024 are Playa La Grava and Cala de la Granadella. In addition, the facilities of Club Náutico de Jávea have also been awarded the Blue Flag status in the Sports Marina category. ADEAC has confirmed that the Playa del Arenal has once again missed out on a Blue Flag due to the ongoing repair work on the outflow pipe. The beach has not been awarded a Blue Flag since 2022.
