The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport has published the school calendar for the next academic year 2022-2023 in the ‘Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana’ (see here). Monday 12th September 1ill be the first day of class for students in Infant, Primary, ESO, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training, both in Basic FP (FPB) and in intermediate and higher degrees.

For the first time, the Infant, Primary, ESO, Baccalaureate, FP classes and also those of the official language schools (EOI) will all end at the same time. It must be borne in mind that this is the common school calendar for the entire Comunidad Valenciana. Each local council will be able to establish three local non-school days, as well as local fiestas, in the event that one of the two corresponding days to each municipality are held during the school day.

Therefore, once the school calendar for the 2022-2023 academic year has been published in the DOGV, the municipal school councils (CEM), which are the highest organ of participation of the educational community of a municipality, or the town councils, in the case of small towns that do not have CEM, will finish defining the calendar with local holidays and non-school days in each town or city.

In addition, the CEMs can request a fourth non-teaching day of a recoverable nature, but in the latter case it is a modification of the school calendar that must be authorized by the General Directorate of Educational Centers. This recoverable day of classes, in the event that it is requested, is usually established, as a general rule, extending the end of the course by one more day or shortening the Easter holidays by one day.

For many years, you’ve told us how much you love what we’re doing and some of you have even asked for ways to say thanks. For us, there really is nothing easier to show someone how much you appreciate their efforts than buying them a beer (or a wine; or even a coffee) – it’s so simple.
