NEW SPA-HOTEL IN XÀBIA MOVES CLOSER TO REALITY

Construction should begin in early next year with the complex ready to open its doors by the summer of 2025.

The construction of a new spa-hotel in Avenida dels Firs has moved closer to reality after it was reported that the procedures to grant the necessary building permits are almost complete, meaning that the Gandía-based company INFILEV could start work of the complex in early 2024.

ALICANTE PLAZA reported that the company should have the necessary permission within a matter of weeks, almost certainly by the middle of December, which will allow it to start the development of a new hotel with 131 rooms as well as a spa and restaurant area which will be open to the public.

It is an ambitious project in what has been described as a “privileged location” close to the port zone, offering modern facilities and high quality services with “spacious and comfortable rooms, elegant common areas and a wide range of services” that will make the new hotel “an attractive destination for tourists and business travellers alike”.

It is expected that construction will begin as soon as the necessary paperwork has been completed – almost certainly in early 2024 – and the developers claim that it will be built in the shortest possible time so that the hotel can open its doors as soon as possible, with the objective being to do so before the summer of 2025.

The application for permission to build the spa-hotel has been a cause of concern for both the company and Xàbia Council since it was submitted in January of this year. The Department of Urban Planning is notorious for its lack of immediacy with reports of piles of applications waiting for licenses, but there have been huge efforts recently to “unclog” procedures with a municipal source telling ALICANTE PLAZA that delays in granting permission “slows down the economy of Xàbia and the creation of employment”.
