MARINA ALTA FOOTBALL ROUND-UP | 11/12 May 2025
CD Jávea opened up a two-point lead at the top of the table after a stunning 3-2 win at CD Murada and Santa Pola’s home defeat to Villena CF.
Lliga À Punt Comunitat – Grup Sud

The regular season concluded this weekend and HÉRCULES CF ‘B’ are champions of the southern group of the Lliga Comunitat, thanks to a 2-0 away win at SC Torrevieja, and are rewarded with automatic promotion to the national pyramid, the Tercera Federación, alongside CD BUÑOL, champions of the northern group who snatched top spot from CD Onda after a 2-0 home win over Ribarroja CF.
Entering the play-offs for the final remaining place in the Tercera Federación are CFI Alicante and Benigànim CF, the latter claiming third spot from UD Tavernes on the strength of a better head-to-head record (1-0, 1-1). They will be joined by CD Onda and Recambiós Colon CD from the northern group; the draw for the play-offs will be made by FFCV later this week.
At the bottom, CD Dénia and CF Gandía are relegated to the Primera FFCV. Both clubs have been struggling off the pitch and it will be unusual to see such powerhouses in regional football playing in the second tier next season.
Coming straight back down from the Tercera Federación are last year’s southern group champions CF BENIDORM who, despite a 2-0 away win at promotion hopefuls CF La Nucia, couldn’t catch AC Torrellano who beat Atlético Saguntino 2-1 at home. The project headed by former Spain and Valencia striker David Villa found it difficult to adapt to the higher level but posted on its social media that “the road isn’t always easy, but what’s important is to learn the lesson and do better next season. We will continue to strive to build a project that will make the city of Benidorm proud“.
Primera FFCV – Grupo 4

NOTE: The missing result is Mutxamel CF 3-0 Benferri CF.

NOTE: Mutxamel CF have 51 points.
CD Jávea’s lead at the top of the table has been extended to two points after the stunning 3-2 win at CD Murada, a side which boasts one of the best home records in the group. The winner, a header from striker Aliou, came after five minutes of stoppage time at the end of the match, sparking wild scenes of celebration on the bench and amongst the travelling army of fans. Head coach Julio Ivorra later posted on his social media, praising his players: “Thank you for letting me live this moment with you. Not our best match. But …you battled to the end, believed to the end, pushed to the end and today the God of football has wanted us to touch the prize. This goal in 95′, it reminded me [of that moment with] Andrés Iniesta“.
The lead has extended thanks to the shock defeat suffered at home by Santa Pola CF to Villena CF, who have been struggling against relegation all season, whilst Mutxamel CF scored three at home without reply against Benferri CF to move into second spot. CD Almoradi easily beat Novelda CF 4-2 at home to keep alive their slim chance of snatching a top two spot.
At the bottom, congratulations of sorts to relegated CF Sporting de San Fulgencio for scoring their first goal in twelve games, Carlos Hernandez scoring midway through the second-half of a 5-1 drubbing at CD El Campello. CF Intercity ‘B’, CD Jávea’s next opponents, suffered their eighth defeat in a row, a 2-1 home loss to CD Montesinos to stay rock bottom of the table.
There is a real fight to avoid the final relegation place with two games remaining. The 14th spot is currently occupied by Benferri CF who host the club one position and three points above them, Villayojosa CF, next week; a real six-pointer of a game and Benferri already hold the advantage of having won the earlier fixture between the two which means that if they win, they will go ahead of their opponents based on the head-to-head record. Villena CF and Novelda CF should need just a point each to avoid finishing in the bottom three; both have home games this coming weekend.

Segona FFCV – Grupo 6

CF Simat maintain their two-point lead at the top of the table after a 4-0 away win at UD Beniopa. FB Teulada-Moraira also won a vital game at third-placed CF Cullera and the current top two will now be battling alone for who will claim the automatic promotion spot and who will have to settle for the play-offs.
At the bottom, CD Dénia ‘B’ are already relegated; it’s been a season to forget for the Dianenses with both senior and reserve sides suffering relegation. They are joined by UD Alginet who drop to the bottom tier of regional for the first time since the mid-1970s. The 5-2 win by Almussafes CF at Real de Gandia CF keeps alive the mathematical chance of reaching safety.
Tercera FFCV – Grupo 12

NOTE: The missing result was Benibiabeig 4-4 CD Itaklis ‘B’.

CF Benitatxell were able to enjoy a rest week as champions of Group 12, their automatic promotion assured, whilst CEF El Verger inched closer to claiming the single play-off spot with a 4-2 win at CF UE Finestrat and a point next weekend at home to CF UD Calpe ‘B’ will confirm it. Their only rivals, CD El Campello ‘B’, beat FB Teulada-Moraira ‘B’ to stay in the race but host champions CF Benitatxell next weekend, although could they be the first club to beat them in over 30 matches?
