Turisme Comunidad Valenciana has initiated a promotional event in Basel on Wednesday 14th May which coincides with the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The event will include live performances by artists Mawot, K!ngdom, and Kuve, all of whom have performed prominently in various editions of Benidorm Fest.
This initiative is supported by Benidorm City Council, RTVE, FOTUR, and the Spanish Tourist Office in Switzerland. It will be led by María Eizaguirre, Director of Communications at RTVE.
The Regional Tourism Minister, Marián Cano, emphasized that “Eurovision represents a unique window of visibility on a global scale, and we want to take advantage of this spotlight to showcase our tourism offerings, as well as the talent and energy of our region“.

Tourism Promotion in the heart of Europe
Basel is located on the border between Switzerland, Germany, and France, in the heart of Europe. For Marián Cano, “Basel’s location, among three of the main tourist source markets for the Comunidad Valenciana, makes this city a strategic enclave for promoting our destination.”
“For this reason,” she explained, “the Generalitat Valenciana) has designed this tourism promotion campaign, taking advantage of both the geographical location and the festival’s media coverage.”
It is worth noting that France is the second-largest source market for foreign tourists to the Comunidad Valenciana, with a total of 2,259,403 French visitors in 2024, while Germany is in fourth place, with a total of 757,544 German tourists to the region last year.
Regarding the Swiss market, more than 418,000 Swiss tourists visited the Comunidad Valenciana in 2024, an increase of 11.8% compared to the previous year. Switzerland is positioned as the ninth largest source market for foreign tourists to the region, with a 3.5% share.
The regional minister noted that the Swiss market “is strategic for the Comunidad Valenciana, due to its high interest in products such as golf, culture, sun, and gastronomy, in addition to having direct air connections from Zurich, Geneva, and Basel.“
In this regard, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana will continue to strengthen its presence in Switzerland with various promotional activities throughout 2025, including fam trips, press trips, and a roadshow that will tour cities such as Lausanne, Lucerne, and Zurich at the end of the year.
