Latest report records 2 new outbreaks in Xàbia, both education in origin

The Comunidad Valenciana has registered 7,990 new cases of coronavirus whilst 6,253 have recovered.

7,990 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 653 in Castellón, 3,721 in Valencia, and 3,615 in Alicante. In total, 306,032 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 53 unassigned cases.

Outbreaks

There have been a total of 50 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana; by province, the distribution is 12 in Castellón, 29 in Valencia, and 9 in Alicante, of which 6 were in the Marina Alta region as follows:

  • Calp: 1 outbreak (5 cases – social)
  • Dénia: 3 outbreaks (8 cases – social; 6 cases – social; 4 cases – social)
  • Xàbia: 2 outbreaks (3 cases – education; 3 cases – education)

There have now been 58 outbreaks of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta in 2021.

Hospitalization

There are 4,338 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 433 Castellón with 53 patients in ICU, 2,188 Valencia with 347 in ICU, and 1,717 Alicante with 255 in ICU.

Recoveries

6,253 recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 241,213 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.
