FOGUERES 2022 | The Cabalgatas – Confetti and sweets fill the air

This special edition of the Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia saw two grand float parades travelling through the historic centre.

As the two week long festivities of the Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia drew to a close, this special edition saw two grand float parades travel through the historic centre of town, the occupants filling the air with confetti and sweets, the former of which would be found in clothing for weeks to come, the latter of which would provide long-lasting work for the dentists of the town.

On Thursday 23rd June, as the excitement built for that night’s Nit dels Focs, the first parade featured those quintades celebrating their special anniversaries in 2020 and 2021, the infantil and junior courts, Quintà 2020 “Tot per l’Aire”, Quintà 2021 “La Desastrà” and Quintà 2022 “La Retornà”.

On Friday 24th June – the feast day of Sant Joan – the second parade featured the local schools, those quintades celebrating their special anniversaries in 2022, other fiesta commissions, the infantil and junior courts, Quintà 2020 “Tot per l’Aire”, Quintà 2021 “La Desastrà” and Quintà 2022 “La Retornà”.
