Petit Ars children’s choir celebrates its end-of-year concert with message of peace and hope
The performance will take place this Saturday at 5.00pm at the Xàbia Professional Music Conservatory.
On Saturday 31st May at 5.00pm, the Petit Ars Children’s Choir will offer its end-of-year concert “Cantem Per la Pau i els Somnis” in the Auditorium of the Xàbia Professional Music Conservatory which is located just off Plaza de la Constitución next to the Centro Social. The performance will be led by the students who participated in this fourth edition of Petit Ars, 25 boys and girls from the project’s two groups and admission is free until capacity is reached.
“Cantem Per la Pau i els Somnis” is much more than a concert: it is an invitation to listen to the voice of children and to share, through music, a better future, offering a musical journey filled with emotions, values, and shared desires, with a varied repertoire that includes pieces such as “Dor Petita Mar” by Josu Elberdin, “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong, “Que Canten Los Niños” by José Luis Perales, “Oye” by Jim Papoulis, “Give Me Wings” by John Rutter, “Sueños de Sal” by Óscar Navarro, and “La Festa de la Pau” by Dàmaris Gelabert.
The pedagogical and artistic project is led by teachers Antonio Caselles and Carme Català along with pianists Antonio Martínez and Sílvia Ferrer. For this occasion, they will feature the special collaboration of percussionist Míriam Llerena.
Petit Ars is a project that grows year after year, both in terms of the number of participants and its artistic ambition. This year, the choir performed in prominent venues such as Gandía and the Teulada-Moraira Auditorium, demonstrating the quality and commitment of a choral project that embraces music education as a tool for personal and collective growth.
Furthermore, with the aim of bringing choral music to the youngest children and contributing to transformative emotional and artistic education, the same concert will also be presented in schools in Xàbia on June 4th.
