Xàbia welcomes El Circo Encantado, a family show that focuses on personal growth and respect for the circus world
There will be a daily performance at 9.00pm from Thursday 24th July to Sunday 17th August on the plot next to Avenida Palmela.
The renowned Circo Encantado has arrived in Xàbia with a show designed for the whole family. It will be set up from Thursday 24th July to Sunday 17th August on the plot next to Avenida Palmela opposite the parking of Supermercado Mercadona and will offer a daily performance at 9.00pm, lasting a total of two and a half hours.
According to its producer, Javier Faura, this is a 21st-century show, “with a script, narrative structure, and a clear message of self-improvement and respect for the art of the circus.” Led by the charismatic and popular clowns Paute and Capitano, spectators will experience an unforgettable experience filled with humour, emotion, and values.
Faura publicly expressed her gratitude for the collaboration of Xàbia Council, especially at a difficult time for the company, which recently suffered an earthquake that caused significant material losses and the destruction of much of its technical and stage infrastructure. “It hasn’t been an easy road,” she acknowledged, “but we’ve found a team here with empathy, sensitivity, and a willingness to support culture, who have opened their doors to us and extended a hand so we can continue bringing the magic of the circus throughout the country. Thanks to this type of collaboration, we can continue bringing quality shows to all families.”

For her part, the councillor responsible for Children and Youth, Raquel Violero (PP), emphasized that this initiative responds to four fundamental objectives of the governing team:
- Promote quality performances and support the arts. “El Circo Encantado is subsidized by the Ministry of Culture (INAEM) and recognized with numerous awards, such as the Gold Medal for Interdisciplinary Fine Arts, and features nationally awarded artists. Bringing this artistic level to Xàbia is a way to dignify culture and bring it closer to all audiences,” she said.
- Guarantee accessible culture. The Council has established a partnership with the company to offer free tickets to vulnerable families and various groups in the municipality, thus making the right to enjoy top-level cultural offerings more accessible.
- Boost local economic growth. As explained by the councilor responsible for Economic Development, Juanlu Cardona (PP), a special performance will be held on Monday 28th July under the slogan “Commerce Day.” Tickets and 50% discounts have been distributed among businesses, bars, and restaurants in the municipality, so they can give them to their customers as an incentive to shop locally and attend the special performance.
- Promote educational leisure activities. “El Circo Encantado is much more than entertainment. It’s a show with an educational script, designed to help us overcome our fears and reconnect with joy through art. The circus combines stagecraft, acrobatics, visuals, and musical techniques to create a complete experience that, in addition to being entertaining, leaves a lasting impression,” explained Violero.
Along these lines, free open days have also been organized, where residents can learn about life in the circus from the inside, see its facilities, and even participate in short circus technique classes. Those interested can register via the link: https://elcircoencantado.com/puertas-abiertas/
