Xàbia Council has issued a notice outlining the regulations for disposing of urban waste and the mandatory collection times in line with the Ordinance on Citizen Coexistence and Safety. The notice explains that the waste collection and transportation service is a municipal responsibility and is provided at the frequency and times set by the local administration, following public notification.

Organic waste must be placed in the designated container in sealed compostable bags between the hours of 9.00pm to midnight in summer (May 1st to September 30th) and from 7.00 pm to midnight in winter (October 1st to April 30th).

Other waste must also be deposited in sealed bags, preventing any leakage of liquids, during the same hours as organic waste.

Glass waste must be placed directly into the container without a bag. The council reminds residents that depositing glass between 11.00pm and 8.00 am is prohibited.

Containers for the selective collection of paper and cardboard, light packaging, clothing and footwear, used oil, and garden waste can be used every day of the year at any time, as long as the waste is deposited in accordance with the ordinance.

Waste that cannot be placed in regular containers due to its size or characteristics, except for furniture or belongings which can be collected by the specific service, must be taken to the Ecoparc or mobile ecoparks during their established opening hours.

Xàbia Council warns that failure to comply with these rules will result in sanctions being issued as stipulated in current municipal regulations.
