Xàbia submits Catarroja-1 industrial estate project for public scrutiny

Xàbia Council has agreed to submit the project for the urban development works of the Catarroja-1 Industrial Unit (UE CATA-1), as well as the corresponding revaluation of costs, for public scrutiny prior to final approval.

This procedure will be carried out within a period of one month through publication in the Diari Oficial de la Comunitat Valenciana (DOCV), on the Notice Board of the Town Hall, and in widely circulated print media. In addition, the draft will be available to the public at an electronic address to facilitate the submission of objections and observations by any interested party.

All documentation will be available at the municipal offices at Portal del Clot No. 2 in Xàbia, as well as on the council’s website (https://xabia.sedelectronica.es/transparency/6a21f9e6-0b68-4973-950d-299558d5aa62/), where the version of the project without data protection pursuant to Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD) can be consulted.

Project Content

The project includes the actions necessary to meet the minimum objectives established in Article 116 of the Consolidated Text of the Land Use, Urban Planning, and Landscape Law (TRLOTUP), including:

• Expansion or improvement of infrastructure and public spaces to ensure adequate levels of quality and service capacity.
• Physical and legal transformation of the affected properties.
• Complete urbanization of the unit through:
  – Paving of roads, sidewalks, parking, pedestrian network, treatment of open spaces, signage, and street furniture.Installation of drinking water distribution, irrigation, and fire hydrant networks.
  – Sewage treatment and wastewater treatment system, and stormwater evacuation through separate networks.
  – Electricity, gas, and telecommunications networks.
  – Public lighting network.
  – Landscaping, trees, and ornamental elements in open spaces.
• Connection and integration with the existing road, mobility, and public services networks.

The CATA-1 industrial development unit is part of the municipality’s new industrial development and is located between Carretera de Gata de Gorgos (CV-734) and the Gorgos River, bordering the Catarroja and La Riba districts. Specifically, the land is located between Camí de les Fontanelles (West), Camí de les Ribes (South), Partida la Riba (East), and the CV-734 (North).

The main access to this unit will be from the roundabout located at kilometre 6 of the CV-734 highway, connecting to the northeast corner of the area. From that point, the planned roads will provide access to the entire new industrial estate.

Mayor Rosa Cardona, welcomed this step, stating that “the activation of this execution unit reflects the government team’s commitment to the orderly development of the municipality and to the creation of new opportunities for the local business community.”
