Xàbia police seize more than 1,000 counterfeit items in Arenal operation
A patrol intercepted a vehicle and discovered numerous bags filled with counterfeit sportswear.
Xàbia Local Police have seized more than 1,000 counterfeit sportswear items during an operation to curb illegal street vending along the Paseo del Tenista David Ferrer at Arenal beach.
The haul, which included imitation handbags, sneakers and branded clothing, was the result of months of monitoring by officers, who tracked the activity of vendors and identified vehicles used to transport and store the merchandise.

At around 7.00pm yesterday evening (Sunday), a patrol intercepted one of the vehicles as it entered the Arenal area. Inside, officers discovered numerous bags filled with counterfeit sportswear, which were confiscated as evidence in an investigation into industrial property crimes.
A detailed count at the police station revealed a total of 1,010 counterfeit items, representing eight different brands.
