Xàbia Council upgrades lighting at major sports facilities
New LED systems aim to boost energy efficiency, visibility and safety.
Xàbia Council has begun installing new floodlighting across the municipality’s main sports facilities, an initiative that will improve energy efficiency and the quality of illumination at the football pitches and the sports centre.
The contract was awarded to IMAS Energía Renovables S.L. for 60,701.68 euros including VAT and covers the supply and replacement of the existing lighting at the eleven-a-side and eight-a-side football fields, as well as the sports centre, upgrading all fixtures to state-of-the-art LED technology. The work is expected to be completed within six weeks.
This project reflects the council’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, while also ensuring better visibility and safety for users of the municipal sports facilities. The lighting upgrade will help reduce energy consumption and associated emissions, supporting local environmental-protection policies.
The councillor responsible for Sports, Toni Molina (PP), noted that this improvement had been needed for years. The facilities required more modern, efficient lighting that would offer better conditions for sporting activity. With this project, he said, the town is taking an important step toward providing clubs, athletes and users with safer, more sustainable and higher-quality spaces. Molina added that the local council will continue working to ensure that Xàbia’s sports facilities live up to what the town’s athletes deserve.
