Xàbia Council orders preventive cleanup of stranded yacht to protect coastline
The removal of hazardous materials aims to prevent pollution along the protected coastline of Xàbia.

After more than fifteen days without the owner of the stranded yacht taking any action to decontaminate or remove the vessel, the Mayor’s Office and the Department of Citizen Security in Xàbia have ordered preventive cleanup work to avoid any potential discharge of polluting fluids into the sea.
A specialist company, Kraken, commissioned by the local council, has removed around 300 litres of diesel, along with motor oil, batteries, and other hazardous materials from the boat. The intervention is intended to prevent these substances from entering the sea and harming the environment, particularly along a coastline that is home to protected species of high ecological value.
In the meantime, the local council is continuing the necessary steps to ensure the complete removal of the stranded sailboat.
