The traditional parade on the evening of January 5th has been cancelled, although the Kings will meet the children in the churches of the port and the historic centre if weather permits.

Three Kings Cabalgata

In light of the adverse weather forecasts expected to remain in place until 6 January, the Three Kings Committee, together with Xàbia Council and Their Majesties, the Three Wise Men of the East, has decided to adopt the following measures, with the primary aim of ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents:

Saturday 3rd January
The Royal Camp and the traditional letter delivery with the Emissaries will go ahead as planned from 5.00pm onwards, at the Iglesia de Mare de Déu de Loreto in the port.

Monday 5th January
The Three Kings parade scheduled for Monday 5 January has been cancelled. However, subject to weather conditions, it is anticipated that Their Majesties, who have already begun their journey, will receive children from Xàbia between 5.00pm and 6.30pm at both the Iglesia de San Bartolomé in the heart of the historic centre and the Iglesia de Mare de Déu de Loreto in the port.

The authorities will remain attentive to any instructions from the Generalitat Valenciana’s Emergency Coordination Centre (112) should there be changes or an escalation in the alert level. Updates will continue to be provided through official channels.

In addition, Gata de Gorgos will not be holding its popular Misteri de Reis this year, the most significant Epiphany performance in the Marina Alta outside of the traditional parades. By mutual agreement, the Misteri de Reis Committee and the local council have decided to suspend all related events, as announced by the council via social media.

Teulada Moraira has also reported that, following a meeting of the Municipal Operational Coordination Centre (CECOPAL), a series of preventive measures have been adopted, among them being the suspension of the Nadal Jove activities on the 3rd and 4th January as well as the cancellation of the Three Kings parades scheduled for January 5th. As an alternative, the council has chosen to move Epiphany celebrations and the gift-giving events to indoor venues, specifically the Teulada Moraira Auditorium and Espai La Senieta in Moraira.

Finally, Beniarbeig has announced that, due to the weather forecast, the Royal Camp has been cancelled. However, visits by the royal emissaries and Their Majesties will still take place in indoor locations.
