Valencia prepares site for new parking zone in the Port of Xàbia
The new car park, which will have 123 spaces, is part of the project to integrate the space into the municipality.
The Port of Xàbia, managed by the Generalitat Valenciana together with the Club Náutica de Jávea, has begun preliminary survey work for a new parking zone. This forms part of a wider project to better integrate the port into the town, which will be developed over the coming years with the aim of making the infrastructure fully accessible to the public.
The work follows the Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure, and Territory’s approval of an extension to the Club Náutica de Jávea’s concession, currently set to expire in June 2026. The extension will allow a series of improvements to the port area, including the construction of this new parking facility. The structure will be spread over three levels, covering 4,700 sqm and providing 123 parking spaces.
Marc García Manzana, Director General of Coasts, Ports and Airports, explained that the public consultation period for the concession extension closed a few weeks ago, and this week, “sampling is already underway to finalise the construction project, so that work can begin in the near future.” He added that the scheme represents an investment of more than five million euros, delivered as a public–private partnership with Club Náutica de Jávea.

The future car park will be built on an esplanade currently used for storage and surface parking. Its design features landscape integration with height setbacks, natural stone and Corten steel finishes, and terraces landscaped with native plants at each level, culminating in “a terrace overlooking the entire port and the Bay of Xàbia,” according to the Director General.
Alongside the parking construction – and with the aim of opening the port further to residents and visitors – the project includes two additional improvements: enhancing the yacht club buildings to better reflect Xàbia’s architectural style and optimizing the water area through the construction of a new dock.
The total investment for the scheme is €5,291,198, funded through a public–private partnership between the Generalitat Valenciana and the concessionaire, with the collaboration of Xàbia Council.
Mayor Rosa Cardona welcomed the initiative, noting that it will “further integrate the port area into the town. We will gain 123 much-needed parking spaces, and residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a pedestrian plaza on the upper level with a viewing platform offering magnificent views of the port.”
