In 2025, the Generalitat Valenciana, through the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Innovation, and Commerce led by Marian Cano, officially recognized 24 fiestas as being of Tourist Interest in the Comunitat Valenciana. The goal is to boost tourism and showcase the cultural and festive heritage of Valencia, Castellón, and Alicante.

Of these honours, 11 were classified as of Regional Tourist Interest, seven as Provincial Tourist Interest, and six as Local Tourist Interest. By province, Valencia leads with 12 recognized events, while Castellón and Alicante received six each.

These designations are given to celebrations that stand out for their tourist appeal and their role in preserving and promoting Valencian culture and traditions. Receiving this recognition is also a prerequisite for consideration as a National Tourist Interest Fiesta.

Among the 2025 honourees are Torrevieja’s Semana Santa, Santa Pola’s Patron Saint and Moors and Christians Festival honouring the Virgin of Loreto, Almassora’s Les Calderes, Vall d’Alba’s Romeria to the Hermitage of Sant Cristòfol, the Fira d’Onda, Xàtiva’s Semana Santa, La Font de la Figuera’s La Dansà, Paterna’s Moors and Christians Festival, and Valencia’s La Mostra, among others.

On December 17, the Directorate General of Tourism received a request from Elda to classify the Moors and Christians of Elda as a Fiesta of International Tourist Interest. This request is part of the mandatory regional review, a step before the final declaration, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism’s Secretariat of State for Tourism.
