Sant Silvestre Perrestre Returns to Xàbia for its Third Festive, Dog-Friendly Edition

The third edition of the Sant Silvestre Perrestre will take place on Sunday 28th December at 10.00am. Already firmly established in Xàbia’s sporting and festive calendar, the event once again combines sport, fun, and community spirit.

The councillor responsible for Sports, Toni Molina (PP), explained that the race is now celebrating its third edition with consistently high participation, thanks to its popular and light-hearted nature. Open to both runners and dogs, it has become a truly special event. Molina also thanked Club Esportiu Llebeig, the organisers of the race, as well as ASEVI for their collaboration, and reminded everyone of the event’s charitable purpose. Registration costs 7 euros, with 2 euros donated to the APASA association.

Madeleine Powell, President of Club Esportiu Llebeig, encouraged all residents to take part, with or without dogs. She explained that the route is lively and entertaining, zigzagging through the town. The race offers two distances: a 4.5-kilometre option for runners, which consists of two laps of the circuit, and a 2.25-kilometre option for those who prefer to walk, completing a single lap. She added that Xàbia Històrica will award prizes for the best individual costume and best group costume, further enhancing the festive atmosphere of the race.

Paula Moya, representing ASEVI, thanked Xàbia Council and Club Esportiu Llebeig for their support and collaboration, and encouraged everyone to participate. She explained that the initiative was born from the conviction that dogs can take part perfectly in this type of event, adding a distinctive and highly enjoyable element. She emphasised that the Sant Silvestre Perrestre is a wonderful combination of families and pets, who are very much part of the family too.

Finally, participants are reminded that registration closes on Thursday, 26 December.
