The 2025–2026 school year has officially begun in Xàbia – just one day later than planned. Unlike most municipalities, classes were scheduled to start on Tuesday 9th September, instead of the 8th, due to the local bank holiday, the final day of the festivities honouring Mare de Déu de Loreto. But heavy rain forecasts prompted an orange weather alert, leading the local council to suspend all classes and activities that day.

With the weather now returned to normal, students were finally able to reunite with classmates and teachers on Wednesday 10th September. In total, 1,920 children began preschool and primary classes, while around 1,000 students started secondary school, high school, and vocational training.
