Penya Agarra’t que Anem’s paella was impressive both for its flavour and presentation and won the 100 euro prize.
The zone of the bull arena on Avenida Palmela in Xàbia was filled with aromas, laughter, and celebration on Monday evening with the annual Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia Paella Competition. More than 30 penyas participated in this event, although sadly some were too late to be able to enter competition.
The tasting and subsequent judging was carried out by Quintà 2025 ‘La Desmadrà’ Presidents Joan Cholbi and Stephanie Dherte, ladies-in-waiting María Mateo and Arantxa Ribes, Infantil Queen Laia Sedeño and lady-in-waiting Triana Berenguer as well as Youth Presidents Marcos Tormos and Celia Cardona. After deliberation, the prize of 100 euros was awarded to the Penya Agarra’t que Anem, whose paella was impressive both for its flavour and presentation.
