Photo Gallery: Fogueres 2025 – El Pregón, kicking off festivities
Fogueres Queen Ainhoa Buigues formally declared the beginning of the festivities, arguably the biggest party of the year in Xàbia.
On the evening of Friday 13th June, the event that officially marks the start of the long-awaited festivities of the Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia took place.
The streets of the historic centre, and the neighbourhoods of Freginal and Thiviers were filled with colour and joy with the parade of the members of Quintà 2025, the Youth Commission, and the young members of the Court of Honour, all accompanied by their officials.
On arrival at the Plaça de l’Església, they were greeted with a great atmosphere with hundreds of residents, both young and old, singing, chanting, dancing and jumping. And then a huge roar greeted the main protagonists when they appeared on the balconies of the town hall building.
Fogueres Queen Ainhoa Buigues, joined by Infantil Queen Laia Sedeño, gave an emotional speech, reminiscing about her own experience as the Infantil Queen 10 years ago and shared the excitement she now feels during these festivities as Fogueres Queen before formally declaring the opening of festivities.
