Photo Gallery: Fogueres 2025 – Bonfires and Decorations
Calle Tossal de Baix and Calle Jesus Nazareno pick up the top prices in the decorated streets competition.
On a hot Thursday late morning, the members of Quintà 2025 ‘La Desmadrà’ and the young members of the Junior Court took part in the traditional parade to visit the decorated streets of the historic centre as well as joining the seniors of the Centro de Día Santa María de Betania in Placeta del Convent and the Asilo Hermanos Cholbi in Avenida del Port for their modest bonfires.
The neighbours of five streets mounted their decorations, fighting as always against the vandalism that sadly blights the wonderful attempt to fill the historic centre with colour: Calle Sant Pere Màrtir (China), Calle San José (coloured fans), Calle Virgen de la Merced (The Simpsons), Calle Jesús Nazareno (music), and Calle Tossal de Baix (macramé).

The first prize plaque was presented to Calle Tossal de Baix whose residents created a large colourful macramé ceiling suspended high above the street between the houses.
The second prize plaque was presented to the residents of Calle Jesús Nazareno who presented a street dedicated to music with symbols of rhythm, colour and sound as well as instruments such as a piano and a set of drums.
As always, hundreds of residents and visitors lined the streets to watch both the processions as well as the lighting of the bonfires which were built by the residents of the day centre and senior home themselves, acts which symbolize the inclusive and supportive spirit of the Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia.
