In its desire to promote the use of renewable energies and access to new technologies, Xabia Council has allocated space on Paseo del Tenista David Ferrer in the Arenal to the company Kuube Spain to install one of its “smart benches”, a urban furniture pilot project that improves the connectivity of citizens.

This facility is equipped with solar panels on the top with which it generates enough energy for its night lighting, a screen with weather information, free WiFi and mobile phone charging points both through USB or wireless technology.

The councillor responsible for New Technologies, Ximo Segarra, explained that this agreement does not entail any cost to the local council and will improve connectivity in a popular area such as the Arenal beach.
