A thrilling match unfolded on Saturday evening between CD Jávea and promotion-chasing SC Torrevieja CF in a fantastic atmosphere that carried the home side forward from start to finish.
Jávea thought they had taken the lead just four minutes in, but the assistant referee ruled the goal out for offside, a decision that drew loud protests from the home crowd. Ivorra’s side remained focused on their mission to win the game and continued to push forward. A few minutes later Maverick came close to opening the scoring, and controversy followed when Aliou was brought down while through on goal against Tizana, but the referee waved play on.
The hosts kept threatening and eventually their pressure paid off. From a corner, Maxi rose to head the ball into the net and give Jávea a deserved lead. Torrevieja struggled to create danger in the first half, while late chances for Aliou and Maxi just before the break failed to extend the advantage.

Torrevieja came out with more intent in the second half, although the first big chance again fell to Jávea when Aliou went one-on-one with the goalkeeper, who pushed the effort out for a corner. The visitors made the most of their first real opportunity soon after, when Pucho struck from the edge of the area to level the score. Minutes later Nico produced a superb save from Ismail to keep the scores tied.
The home side’s joy returned thanks to Maxi. He won the ball in the attacking third, drove forward toward Tizana and finished calmly with a low shot to restore Jávea’s lead. From there the hosts controlled the game and nearly added another when Adrián unleashed a powerful shot that flashed just past the post.
In the end it was a deserved victory for CD Jávea, who gave everything to secure the three points. Maxi’s brace also sees him join Aliou as the club’s joint top scorer this season with eight goals each.
