MATCH REPORT | CD OLÍMPIC 1-0 CD JÁVEA

The first defeat in three games leaves CD Jávea six points adrift of safety with just five games remaining. An 89th goal condemned the ‘rojiblancos’ to defeat in Xàtiva and, with CD Thader picking up a point at home against CF Independiente Alicante and CF La Nucia “B” chalking up a victory against CD Dénia, the gap has opened up by another point.

CD Jávea has a game in hand on the other struggling sides and a win in Alicante would close that cap and lift the club off the bottom of the table. With champions-elect CF Benidorm arriving in town next weekend for a match that is likely to secure the title, the ‘rojiblancos’ will need to dig deep to avenge that 0-7 thumping of last December. It can be done as was proved last season when Jávea condemned Ontinyent 1931 CF to only their second defeat of the season.

And it seems that Jornada 28 is going to key round with two clubs playing each other in desperate “six-pointer” clashes; CD Jávea will be hosting CF La Nucia “B” whilst CD Thader travel to Callosa Deportiva.
