CD Jávea and UD Carcaixent played out a hard-fought encounter that demanded maximum effort from both sides.
In the opening minutes, the visitors pressed high, making it difficult for Jávea to play the ball out from the back. As the game settled, that pressure eased, allowing the home side to gain a foothold. Adrián created the first real chance with a powerful effort from the edge of the box that flew just wide. Soon after, a dangerous cross from Maverick almost set up Maxi for the opener.
At the other end, Carcaixent offered little threat, with Fede in the Jávea goal largely untested and looking assured throughout. Just before the break, Jávea made the breakthrough: Adrián delivered an excellent cross and Lucas rose to head home, giving the home side a deserved 1–0 lead at half-time.
The second half was played at a slower pace, the 5pm kick-off and heat clearly taking its toll. The first chance fell to the visitors, when a loose ball in the area dropped to Carlos, but he fired over. The game’s most controversial moment arrived soon after: a fierce strike from outside the box crashed off the crossbar and bounced down onto the line. Carcaixent’s players claimed the ball had gone in, but assistant referee Ferrari, perfectly placed, waved play on – a classic “ghost goal” that was too close to call.
That scare seemed to wake Jávea up. Adrián produced a superb individual run and was brought down in the box, winning a penalty. He stepped up himself, but blasted his spot-kick well over the bar, the rojiblancos second penalty miss of the season.
In the closing minutes, Aliou twice had chances to seal the game but couldn’t find the target. Finally, deep into stoppage time, he made amends, finishing calmly with a low cross-shot that Joan in the Carcaixent goal could do nothing about.
Jávea ran out 2–0 winners in what was, overall, a low-key match but one that still carried its share of incident. At the final whistle, frustrated Carcaixent players surrounded the officials, and Miguel was shown a red card.
The result lifts CD Jávea to the top of the table – at least for the next 24 hours.
